Amazing Monitor March 28, 2010 Mantis Moore (Dallas Tx) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
I built a gaming rig and was looking for a nice 20+ monitor to finish the deal.
I originally went with the HP 27" LCD monitor and was looking around, price comparing and spec comparing.
I ended up looking at the Samsung LCD predecessor to this monitor, and went to buy it, and they were all out of stock. They asked if i would like this one as a replacement/upgrade, seeing the LED on the box sealed the deal.
This monitor hooked up through HDMI is STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL! True color on intelligent during movies really adds a certain likelife contrast to the video.
It is glass smooth playing games (MW2, L4D2, TF2, Bioshock 1&2, Crysis, ect.) It is the BEST monitor i have ever owned.
An awesome buy and very well worth the price!
The PERFECT gaming monitor! March 18, 2010 Jayson Allyson (Farmington, NH USA) 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
I was in the market for a monitor to use with my PS3 (for my bedroom). I tried 2 other Samsung TV's (one was a Samsung 26" UN26C4000 and the other one was a Samsung 32" LN32C530) and both of these other Samsung TVs I bought has horrible ghosting artifacts during my game playing and movie watching. I couldn't stand it and it was giving me a headache.
Then I saw the 23" LED XL2370 that I am reviewing right now and with the 2ms response time there is absolutely NO ghosting whatsoever and there's next to no lag. I'm so glad I returned the other 2 TV's and purchased this one. It has an HDMI port in the back for the PS3 to plug into and it even has an audio out jack (3.5mm) in the back to plug in external speakers. Therefore there is no need to run a separate cable from your PS3 to a speaker set.
My games look very nice on this monitor (unless of course you're sitting 4 inches from it). From a normal distance of about 3 feet or so, your games will look just as good as if you're playing them on a 40" TV.
If you're a hardcore gamer that is looking for the fastest, most lag-free display with absolutely no ghosting or overdrive, look no further than this XL2370. It's really a great deal.
High end image, low end cost March 29, 2010 Paul R. Hartung (Milwaukie, OR United States) 27 out of 30 found this review helpful
Mac people would be wasting money to get the 24" studio LED instead of this. After calibration, this monitor epitomizes the advantages inherent to LED technology. Samsung seems to think the selling point is lower power consumption but it's really the visual accuity and dynamic range. If imaging is your business then this monitor, once calibrated, delivers quality only seen in higher end NEC, Eizo, and Apple monitors at a fraction of the cost.
Incredibly sharp contrast, fast 2ms refresh rate, multiple inputs! May 29, 2010 Fabio Higa (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great monitor, LED backlight is very even, sharp resolution, extremely well built. Very light, nice design with the glass looking stand and monitor edges. Extremely slim. Power supply is external (via a power brick).
Cons: cables coming out of the back make it look messy, stand is only for tilting panel up and down, but no height adjustment.
Bright, clear, vivid image June 27, 2010 Sumitsu 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
(I have the XL2370; I'm not sure if there is a difference between the XL2370 and the XL2370-1, but from the description and the pictures it appears to be the same product.)
I've found the XL2370 to be an excellent monitor; the image is crisper and clearer and the colors more vivid than any other monitor I have used thus far, and the brightness is enough to light up a room. It has a full-HD 1920x1080 resolution (which was a must for me, but oddly seems not to be mentioned in Amazon's description), and it seems to do a great job rendering HD/blu-ray movies. The styling is a major plus as well, including a clear bezel surrounding the screen and the base, a profile thinner than any other similarly-sized monitor I've seen, and the use of hidden, touch-sensitive areas along the lower bezel for the controls (in lieu of physical buttons).
My sole complaint is that it appears to have some trouble distinguishing dark gray; very dark grays tend to look black. For the most part, however, it seems to perform respectably in LCD calibration tests [...], and that small issue is not enough for me to drop it from a 5-star rating. I'm very happy with it, and would purchase another one if the need arose.
